Prayer

Prayer meetings happen on Saturday mornings at 9:30 am at the church and at other times, like the Tuesday Morning Prayer Meeting, especially to pray for families (10 am at the church) with lots of worship and encouragement. Prayer ministry is available regularly at worship services, to help us bring our needs to God and receive from Him what He wants to give. Our prayer chain prays for requests brought to the church. If you have something or someone to add to the prayer list for our bulletin and prayer in our services, please use this form, phone the office, or send an email with your request. We are trying to do life with God—and to help you and those you love do it too!

Prayer for St Luke’s

Gracious God, we praise and thank You for all Your blessings showered upon us in Jesus Christ.

We thank You for our parish family of St. Luke’s and for all You have done for us. We ask You to fill us with Your Holy Spirit that we may know and do Your will, love You and one another, and shine as lights to the world around us. May many lives be touched for Your Kingdom through us, and may we become the church You want us to be.

We pray that You would guide and bless our clergy, lay leaders, and all who serve in various ministries. We pray for each individual member of our congregation, that You may bless, protect and guide each one, providing for our needs and accomplishing Your purpose in each life. We pray especially for any who are sick or in special need, and for those who are struggling in any way. May You be glorified and Your people blessed!

All this we pray in the name of Jesus our Saviour, Amen.

A Prayer for the Local Congregation from our Book of Common (for everyone together!) Prayer:

O God the Holy Spirit, Sanctifier of the faithful: Sanctify this Congregation by your abiding presence. Bless those who minister in holy things. Enlighten the minds of your people more and more with the light of the everlasting Gospel. Bring erring souls to the knowledge of our Saviour Jesus Christ; and those who are walking in the way of life, keep steadfast to the end. Give patience to the sick and afflicted, and renew them in body and soul. Guard those who are strong and prosperous from forgetting you. Increase in us your many gifts of grace, and make us all fruitful in good works. This we ask, O blessed Spirit, whom with the Father and the Son we worship and glorify, one God, world without end. Amen.
