At St. Luke’s we genuinely want to glorify God and to help people with their various needs, especially helping them to know and grow in God’s grace and love through Jesus Christ.  Here is a partial list of our ministries and programs (in addition to our Sunday services):

News updates on some Outreach Activities within St. Luke's. Bible Based, -Spirit filled -Mission oriented are the corner stones of the church. Outreach is part of fulfilling our mission. We often take for granted all the many projects undertaken by our church members. Yes, we have an outreach committee; however we are such a small part of the global activities of the church.

Helping Adults Grow as Christians:

  • The Alpha Course (a fun course on basic Christianity)
  • Baptism, Confirmation, and Marriage Preparation
  • Bible Studies and Small Groups
    Special courses, services, workshops, guest speakers, retreats, etc. (check out the Calendar)
  • Lending library of Christian material

    Helping Young People Grow as Christians:

  • Baptism,
  • First Communion & Confirmation
  • Youth Group
  • Young Adults Group
  • Family Resources and Events

Fellowship and fun

  • Men’s Group
  • Women’s Group
  • Social events e.g. dinners, games nights

Healing and Pastoral Care

  • Prayer Groups, Prayer Appointments and Ministry
  • Visits to Hospital, Nursing Homes, and Shut-ins
  • Pastoral Counselling and Referral
Local Outreach Programs

•Salvation Army-Individual members work in the Salvation Army Kitchen endlessly, and help man their Christmas Kettle.

• Community Walk for Cancer -Annually thousands of dollars have been raised.

• Church Build -this is an ongoing project of the Outreach Committee.

• Prayer Chain -If you want to see what faith and what God can do, join us.

• Ladies monthly breakfast -Brings together up to 95 ladies of all faiths together for a prayer breakfast monthly.

• Bible study

• Men's group-all men welcome

• Youth group -everyone welcome

• Sunday School (Kids Church) program for children

• Special Mission flow through -specific donations to desired projects

Transportation available for those requiring assistance to get to church

• Sick and visiting committee -Recorded church services

• Grief Share program

  • Library and CD sharing
  • First Step options program assistance
  • Christian School assistance
    Vacation Bible School
  • Marriage Preparation courses
  • Alpha course - an "introduction and overview of the Christian faith
  • Support two free Christmas dinners in our region annually
  • Special workshops and courses open to the community e.g.
  • Peace in the Midst of Stress
  • Involvement in the Community events - e.g.. giving hot chocolate at the Christmas Parade and taking part in the Gospel nights at the Pembroke Marina
  • Sponsoring a Seniors Luncheon
  • Assisting in lawn and yard work when health does not permit individuals to do so
  • Food Bank — monthly donations.


  • Beyond Pembroke:
  • Brazil Twinning and assistance in building a church
    Madagascar Mission $1,200.00 a year
  • The Henderson's $1,200.00 a year
  • Sharing Congregational news with other congregations
  • Anglican Relief and Development Fund — Contributions by members are constant. "
